In today’s
society, safety at the workplace is of paramount importance. We are being
trained that at any time, we can experience a natural or terrorist driven
disaster. How will your employees safely evacuate your building during
an emergency when there are no lights, or when smoke obscures the exits?
A photoluminescent
emergency evacuation system is the answer to this question. Photoluminescent
systems enable the building occupants to safely see the corridors and
exits as they “light up” or “glow” when sudden
darkness occurs. This type of signage can be architecturally incorporated
into your existing office spaces and will only standout during a blackout
condition.
National
Visual Systems offers signage for your emergency evacuation system using
Permalight technology, a world leader in photoluminescent materials design
and standards writing. We have designed and installed this type of system
for the Federal government and we can design and install a photoluminescent
evacuation system for your building too.

Egress
& Low Location Exit Path Markings
These markings are used to outline the exit doorways,
stairwell treads and corridors so that personnel can safely and calmly
move from their office to the exits. They are preferably installed in
low location, either on the floor or within 18 inches of the floor, to
remain visible underneath smoke during a fire scenario. These items can
also be used to mark valves and other maintenance facilities for ease
of view during emergency conditions.
Exit
Signs
Of crucial importance to the emergency evacuation system are the signs
that indicate the way out of the building. These signs must be able to
“glow” for extended periods of time. National Visual Systems
offers EXIT signs in acrylic and silk screened styles which have been
approved by strict UL924 standards. They comply with NFPA101-Life Safety
Code and NFPA 5000, as well as IBC International Building Code.
Emergency
Evacuation Plan Signs
These signs provide orientation information and direct the public to the
exits or stairwells for egress out of the building.
Stairwell
Landing Signs
These signs provide the public information including, what floor they
are on and on which floor they should exit the stairwell for egress out
of the building.
